How much Mp does Moonlight gives back, or byt which stat is it set ?

I'm a SAM and was surfing somepage.com, and got to get this crazy idea; doing CoPs mission and having 4 mages in pt(SMN-SMN-WHM-PLD), I could use clubs/arrows do deal 'some' damage' and be a good refresher with Meditate + Meiko Sishui. Idea may sound crazy, but it it gives like 30-40 mp to whole pt, and keeping in mind I could do 5-6 Moonlight in a row... (full TP+2h+Med)... And then get back to full TP rather quickly...

I know it's crazy, but still... so, what deternmines the MP gained from Moonlight ? ( Obviously, TP will is a modifier, but there must be another sdtat that acts like a modifier...

MP restore rate is 10% of club skill multiplied by TP/100. That means if you're doing a 50cap BC and your club skill is maxed you'll restore 13mp at 100% TP, at 300TP you'd restore 39.

IMO your mages would be better off with you using your greatkatana for DD and making self chains with your 2 hour that the smn's can double burst.

Thanks.... exactly the info I hoped to get.

I'm aware that I should be more usefull with GK, but still curious to see it. I'll rise the clubs.

Strategy could go like, I use GK as usual, but at some point during fight, switch to Club then:

Meiko Senshui
Moonlight (300% power; 40+ MP)
Meditate
Moonlight (300% power; 40+ MP)
Moonlight (300% power; 40+ MP)
(by now, meditate has refilled me and I'm still on 2hour so:)
Moonlight (300% power; 40+ MP)

that would be good for a fast 160+ mp on all 4 mages.

then return to Great Katana and regular WS.(maintaining caped Archery, I also tend to stand back by RNG's side early in fight, shooting arrows to prevent abusive MP usage from mage when mobs tend to do lots of -ga spells/abilities)

In my party, I do some damage, but RNG is main DD. I support on tanking and damage dealing.

Things may change further on, but yet, my Meiko Sishui is good for about a maximum of 15% of mob's healt. It help, sure, but WHM get to use a lot of Ether through some of the fights (see the Mammet fight or the Vahzl fight).

Using a Club 2h would pretty much mean a refill on PLD's mp and a good boost on WHM(Elvaan), and good support on SMNs which usually spread incredible MP on Stoneskin-ing us, and such higly defensive Avatar spells.

I'll have to think about it and talk to pt members.

I'm really enthousiatic(sp?) about the idea...

Another thing; in most of my latest experiences in BCNMs from CoP, ambiance gets pretty tense at some point, and mobs moving/diing/auto targeting/etc... made me miss my 2h in Mammet fight/Vahzl fight/Mithran Trackers fight/Diabolos fight(I fell down a hole after the 2nd WS)...

Standing a bit back and using moolight MAY be a better usage of my 2hour...

I'm pretty much simply gathering some ideas here. If you still have something to point out about this, please do...

again, thanks for the info

Apart from the issues mentioned above, I'm not sure that logistically you could use Moonlight in a BCNM type setup, without endangering the life of the casters.

Like all area weaponskills (whether offensive or defensive), Moonlight only operates in a short range around the character using it. For the effects to land on the casters, they would need to be near you as well, which means they would need to be near the mob. In fights with a lot of AOE damage going off, that can spell death to a caster in short order.

In these types of fights, if you have that many casters and they run out of MP, you took too long on the fight. Trying to do more damage with your 2hr is probably a better use, to take the mob out faster. Setting up a renkei for the SMN to MB off of is definitely a terrific use, if it can be timed that way.

By and large, the restorative weaponskills are intentionally weak; if they weren't, people would do things like you're describing on every fight, for endless MP. Those weaponskills are great for farming or other activities like that, but in difficult fights they generally just aren't worth the TP.

Good point... so you need to be close to mob AND close to mages... that's pretty cancelling the efficiency.

The thing is, our party can kill a single NM pretty easilly (Barrage, EES, Meiko Sishui, Astral Flow x 2)...

But nice strategies are needed to fight multiple-mobs BCNM... For the Mammets, we took over 28 minutes, and for Vahzl, we took about 18 minutes...

But overkilled Ooryu and Diabolos...

Come to think of it... We already kill easilly single NMs... and can't take such risks as Meiko Sishui + Moonlight in a multiple-mobs fight... that would kinda be the best way to get mages killed or loose control of one or 2 of the mobs...

AAAWW >< ( /em drops the idea )

Hello, I just wanted to add that you do not need to me close to the mob to use this, you just have to be engaged with the mob.

Just have your weapon out and you can use Moonlight as far away as your engage-range will allow you.

Often times if I'm going to zone but have 100%TP I'll engage an enemy from afar and use Moonlight and then zone.

Then that puts back some good into it...

I know the idea sounds stupid... almost absurd...

But when on meiko Sishui, all my WSs have 300% efficiency... so if I can use my Meiko Sishui to let go 4 x 300% Moonlights near the mages...

For sure, I would fight with Great Katana the rest of the time; only switch to clubs for the 2h... So I could still back up tank / deal damage.
