Any details about the "Beyond the Sun" quest can be posted here. Once it is known, the info will show up in the Beyond the Sun quest walkthrough. As of right now, there hasn't even been reliable info about how to activate it. If it does reward Maat's Cap, which presumably it does, once can expect this to be a difficult quest indeed.

"Got the cap quest.
I have lv75 WAR and DRK, and lv74 RDM.
Although I'm not sure what exactly triggered it, I got the testemonies for WAR DRK RDM and went through the BCs and changed my Title to Maat Masher.

Now, as for the Maat's quest itself he asks me to bring items.
The three items are: Opal Silk, Saber Shoot, and Cloud Evoker.
I wonder where you get them... orz"

That's interesting stuff, if it's true. Given that there are a handful of other people who have 3+ 70 jobs that they've beaten Maat with who don't have the quest, though, it's hard to be certain.

The other thing that's odd, if that is accurate, is that two of those items were assumed to be for the new Ebisu Rod quest. If they're used in this one, it doesn't seem likely that they're used in that one... so there's definitely some more info to be dug out for these new quests.

If it takes beating Maat with three different jobs, and then getting those three items... that almost seems too simple of a quest (if brutally time-consuming, of course.) If those are the prerequisites, we should have verification soon enough.

its possible though, that after getting the items, you gotta fight some uber NM, like King Nidhochelone alone.

that seems so far to be the most realistic thing I've read so far.

When I found that post 2 days ago, I immediately went to farm my testimonies to test if it was true. I currently have 3 jobs that can fight Maat (75whm/75blm/74rdm). I took the testimonies to the corresponding BC and fought Maat as BLM first and succeed. After returning to Jeuno, he only offered to fight me again if I brought testimony, so that didn't trigger it. I went back to fight Maat as RDM next and won, and returned to find the same result.

This was a total of 2 jobs that I have fought Maat already, all except WHM. WHM was the first job that I unlocked 70 with. Since I didn't get the quest, I figured that I might have to get in another rematch with him. I immediately went to farm another whm testimony, and did the rematch... but the results were the same. No new dialogue :(

There seems to be a prerequisite to trigger this quest, and beating maat with 3 jobs isn't it...

Yes this info posted is absolutely incorrect. It is already known that the opal silk and branch are used for the ebisu fishing rod. It says it right in the quest dialogue. The Cloud Evoker could very well be used in this, but when he said the silk and branch he proved he was lying through his teeth.

Yes I agree with Kalessa because I've already level up 4 jobs to 75, WAR RNG WHM and BLM. And I've kicked Maat's ass with WAR WHM and BLM genkai 5 before this quest is introduced. But no new dialogue. So I went to farm WAR testimony just to get Maat Masher title but still no quest activation. So I'm still not sure whether you have to beat Maat in 3 jobs just to activate the quest cos I've already done it^^;

(Kicking Maat's ass with multiple job just for fun only lol. And to prove that I'm worthy to use that job too :p)

Whats everybody's fame in all 8 factions? It could very well require a massive fame in all of them, even rank 9 for all we know. Pure speculation, but with such a godly hat as this ya never know. Fame is a pain to raise too in some instances.

Tenshodo
Bastok
Windy
Sandy
Rabao
Selbina
Kahzam
Jeuno

For the one who activated the quest, what is your fame lvl. And can you FRAP'S the screen shot to prove you activated the quest??? That would be cool ^^ Otherwise I take everything I hear with a grain of salt with the little info we have.

Perhaps you have to defeat maat with all three "archetypes". Mage, Melee, tank type.

They did just announce that upcoming Ballista Royale tournament. This hat would make a pretty good prize for 1st place...

Also, with the new recruitment program this could very well be the item you get at the 365 day mark..

Its a quest, not a reward, quests are open to basically everyone, now if the quest was with the completion of CoP 8-1 or 8-3 or something, we see the same thing in Jeuno with the arrival of a specific character*. So its not exactly beyond reason to find such a case in which you need to complete the missions to activate it. The upcoming patches will fill in the info for those days as new items are made. Besides these are fun ones to be together with the people you invite into the world, not godly items.

Spoiler: Character Name: Highlight to read. *cough*Prishe*cough*

I just want to point out that. there are 2 ways to beat maat with each job. Kill maat or beat him via special means. when I beat him to break the lvl 70 limit on drg, I beat him via special means. I need to farm a testimony and try to actually kill him now. I think that might be the key to unlocking this quest. beating him both ways.

what about counter him several times ?

but I really doubt defeating Maat by bringing his HP to 0 is the key, simply because some jobs can't do this before Maat gets angry and starts using Asuran Fists or Dragon Kick several times ... unless you're very lucky that is.

Never in my life did I ever think I could be so incredibly jealous of someone named Mumu. However, after reading Mumu's journal I actually am. All I can do is hope that the first guy was not lying when he said he got with 3 jobs at 75. According to Mumu all jobs need to be at 75 for the quest to become available. What am I talking about you ask? Just Google "Mumulog". If you don't understand japanese it's still pretty easy to find what you're looking for. Oh and it will be the second MumuLog that comes up on Google. Not the one with pictures of a scary little animal.

Mumu plays on my server XD

his log also says he's not sure if you need all to 75, or just beat maat with every job (aka, all 66)
